Inclusive Libraries

Questions to Consider

Document Actions

Also consider the following questions:

  • How complex is my community in terms of its members and community issues? What information do I have now? Who can I contact to get information about community issues?
  • Identify the organizations or persons in your community who are currently not involved with the library. What are your observations about the community members?
  • Rely on the community for a critical perspective. Where are the community gathering places? What are the formal and informal communication channels in the community?
  • Contact individuals or groups that serve as linkages to areas of the community that are not currently serviced.
  • What have you observed about the lending processes of your current patrons? What changes are necessary?
