Also consider the following questions:
- How complex is my community in terms of its members and community issues? What information do I have now? Who can I contact to get information about community issues?
- Identify the organizations or persons in your community who are currently not involved with the library. What are your observations about the community members?
- Rely on the community for a critical perspective. Where are the community gathering places? What are the formal and informal communication channels in the community?
- Contact individuals or groups that serve as linkages to areas of the community that are not currently serviced.
- What have you observed about the lending processes of your current patrons? What changes are necessary?
