Inclusive Libraries

Now What?

Document Actions

As you gather the information about your community, you will have a clearer picture of where the library stands in terms of today and tomorrow’s needs. Having this information will help you plan and prioritize the needs of the community and to determine what resources will be required and how your plans for resources for the future may be determined.

Once you have an idea of users, both current and potential, then you can start to plan effectively for changes to include diverse users.

You may not be able to implement all the changes at once in your library. However, you can plan for change that evolves over time. Even small changes will enhance the lives of users with disabilities. As you work through Building an Inclusive Library, you will initiate a planning process to enhance your library’s current and future responsiveness to the entire community, including those with disabilities.
